In addition to his teaching at USC, where he where he conducts a production symposium, Andrew Licht has produced seven motion pictures, two of which debuted in the number one spot at the U.S. box office. All have the distinction of being written by first time/un-produced screenwriters, a number of whom have gone on to successful careers.
Licht's films include
License to Drive (1988),
Little Monsters (1989),
The Cable Guy (1996) and
Idle Hands (1999). He was the executive producer for
Waterworld (1995) for Universal, and
Spinning Boris (2003) for Showtime Networks as well as the writer/producer of
Doin' Time on Planet Earth (1988).
