Steve Hedstrom oversees operations in its handling of room scheduling, keys, mail, package shipping and receiving, phones, film and equipment pickup and delivery, and guest parking. The department also provides support for classes and special events. The rooms and buildings of the Cinematic Arts complex are unlocked in the morning and locked at night by Operations, which also acts as liaison with custodial, campus security (DPS and Alarm Center), FMS (Facilities Management Services, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lock shop, painters, etc.), and the safety office. Operations also provides information and assistance, especially direction-giving, for students, guests, staff and faculty.

Hedstrom has worked in various capacities for the school since 1978. He was part of the transition team that moved the school from its old building into its new complex in 1984, the year of the Los Angeles Olympics, and has been Operations Manager since 1987.
