Frank Kniest, sound designer and editor on three Academy Award nominated features for Best Sound Editing, is also a Golden Reel Award winner. His work is recognized for its strong interplay of sound, image, story, and character. His credits include: The Fugitive, Under Siege, The Negotiator, Spinal Tap, Batman Forever, White Men Can't Jump, The Program, and Primal Fear. He was also a cameraman for NBA Films.

Kniest is a native of Seattle where his family owned a Movie Theatre Chain. He holds a B.A. in History at the University of Washington and an M.F.A. from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. In addition, he teaches for the UCLA Performing Arts Extension University on Sound Design for Movies and Television.
