Teaching Peter Stark students how to produce for television, Brandon Stoddard is a partner at Ancient Mariner Films, producers of
Murder, She Purred (1998) for ABC and
You Know My Name (1999) for TNT. He spent 25 years at ABC, becoming president of ABC Productions and was responsible for the award-winning ABC Afterschool Specials.
Features released under his tenure include
Young Doctors in Love (1982),
Silkwood (1983), and
Prizzi's Honor (1985). He is best known for participating in the development of the ABC Novel for Television, which included
Roots (1977),
The Winds of War (1983),
The Thorn Birds (1983), and
War and Remembrance (1998). He was also responsible for the creation of such bold programming as
Max Headroom (1987-1988),
Slap Maxwell (1987-1988), and
Twin Peaks (1990-1991).
