A distinguished scholar, prolific author, ubiquitous media commentator, consultant, and producer, Todd Boyd is internationally regarded for his work on race, media, hip hop culture, and sports. His seven books include The Notorious Ph.D.'s Guide to the Super Fly 70s; Young, Black, Rich, and Famous; The New H.N.I.C.; and Am I Black Enough For You? Boyd's articles have appeared in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, and ESPN.com's Page 2.

His television profile includes appearances on The Today Show, NBC Nightly News, ABC World News Tonight, CBS Evening News, The News Hour with Jim Lehrer, Frontline, CNN and ESPN, among many others. Boyd's comments have been featured in the nation's leading newspapers and magazines, including the New York Times, Washington Post, Time, Newsweek, GQ, and Vibe. He has appeared in several HBO documentaries and is especially noted for his work in O.J. Simpson: In Black and White (2002).

Boyd has lectured to the NBA Players Association and the Nike Global Basketball Marketing department. He has been a consultant to HBO and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. In 1999, he produced and co-wrote Paramount Pictures' The Wood.
