As Associate Dean of Student Industry Relations, Auerbach meets with students who wish to have one-on–one discussions about their career paths, offers a realistic perspective on working in the entertainment industry, and lends his advice and guidance on the necessary steps to be taken upon graduating. When necessary, Auerbach reviews legal documents involving students’ contracts and/or deals.
A former agent with nearly 50 years of experience, Larry Auerbach was the executive vice president of the William Morris Agency and a member of its board of directors. During his tenure, Auerbach was the head of the New York motion picture division; ran the television department in Los Angeles; established the rock and roll division of the music department, and represented clients like Norman Jewison and Bernardo Bertolucci.
He was instrumental in bringing movies such as
The French Connection (1971),
Last Tango in Paris (1972), and
Moonstruck (1987) to the big screen, and has sold over 100 television features and series ranging from
That Girl (1966-1971) to
The Cosby Show (1984-1992).
