Writer, director and producer Robert Enders, who taught as an adjunct faculty member at the School of Cinematic Arts for 14 years, passed away on September 7 in Los Angeles.

"Bob had an incredible passion for cinema, which he infused in both his students and colleagues," said Dean Elizabeth M. Daley. "We are deeply saddened by his passing."

Born in Pennsylvania, Enders was raised in Texas and New Jersey and served in the U.S. Army. Having long worked in radio and television on the East Coast, Enders' Hollywood career began in 1960 with the television series The Best of the Post  based on the Saturday Evening Post  magazine.

He partnered for 28 years with multiple Oscar-, Emmy- and Tony-award winner Glenda Jackson in the London-based Bowden Productions. "Bob opened up film and the theatre by putting great plays on the screen," said Jackson, whom Enders directed in his production of Stevie (1978).

Enders is survived by his wife, Estelle, a brother, four children, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
