New Montes Scholars Named

Seven USC Cinema-Television graduate students were among the group named as recipients of this year’s Rodolfo Montes scholarships.  The program, begun by Dr. Rodolfo Montes, a dentist, and supervised by the Graduate School, awards money to deserving Latino graduate students who demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the Latino communities in Southern California.  Also participating in the program are the Schools of Medicine, Law, Dentistry, and Planning and Public Policy.  This year’s Cinema-TV honorees are Veronica Shamo-Garcia (Production), Michael Flores (Production), Brenda Zuniga (Production), Jozsef Tamas (Production), Nicholas Oceano (Production), Ryan Maldonado (Screenwriting), and Thersa Ortbals (Production).  The scholarships ranged from $2,000 to $7,500.
