ABOUT POP SKULL

Pop Skull depicts the lonely and disjointed life of Daniel, a young Alabama pill addict, as his efforts to cope with the trials of his day-to-day life collide with the increasing influence of murderous and displaced spirits that inhabit his home. Plagued by ghosts, Daniel discovers his home holds a secret to a grisly crime… a crime he's doomed to repeat if he can't prevail against the forces that haunt him.

ABOUT THE GUESTS

E.L Katz (Writer/Producer)

After graduating from Full Sail Film School in Orlando, E.L. Katz wasted no time. His very first screenplay, Home Sick, caught the eye of such horror genre icons as Bill Moseley (The Devils Rejects), Tom Towles (Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer) and Tiffany Shepis (Nightmare Man), and in 2004, he produced the film in Birmingham, Alabama. A review from Fangoria Magazine cited it as being "a gorefest that does what so many recent low budget shockers only claim to do." Synapse Films released it on DVD in October 2007. For his follow-up feature, Pop Skull, a frenetic, psychological ghost story, E.L. managed to write and produce the film for the amazingly low budget of $2,000. Directed by rising talent Adam Wingard, Pop Skull has already garnered wonderful reviews from Variety, Twitch, and Bloody-Disgusting, and has gone on to find distribution through Wild Bunch. Autopsy, a hospital horror shocker he co-wrote with Jace Anderson and Adam Gierasch for Seven Arts Entertainment, which stars Robert Patrick, was produced by Warren Zide (Final Destination) and played theatrically as part of After Dark's 8 Films To Die For. His most recent work is the chilling story Dibbuk Box, which he is finishing for Mandate Pictures and Sam Raimi's company Ghost House. He is also currently writing Dark Corners for Peter Block, producer of the Saw franchise.

Peter Katz (Producer)

Peter Katz is an award winning film producer. He has produced critically acclaimed genre films that have screened at the AFI Fest, Rome Film Festival, as well as the New Zealand International Film Festival. Home Sick was the first feature film he produced in Alabama with genre stars Bill Moseley (Devil's Rejects) and Tom Towles (Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer). He was one of the producers on Mortuary, which was helmed by legendary director Tobe Hooper (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Poltergeist).  His newest feature, Pop Skull, has received excellent reviews from such press as Variety, San Franciso Bay Guardian, and Fangoria. Peter is one of the pioneers of neurocinema, a new filmmaking proccess that uses brain scanning technology to analyze a movie viewer's brain activity in real time to know exactly what they felt about every second of a film. Recently, he was interviewed for Wired.com and covered in MentalFloss.com for his research into neurocinema. In addition, Peter has organized multimedia panels at Comic Con with Marv Wolfman (creator of Blade), Kevin Grievoux (co-writer/actor of Blade), Oren Peli (writer/director of Paranormal Activity), Dowlde Brothers (writer/director/producer of Quarantine), and Aintitcool's Mark L. Miller. Peter is developing projects across various mediums including film, comics, and the web.
