Osa T. Hidalgo de la Riva directed two film projects co-produced with 35 undergrads at UC Berkeley. We, the People is a collection of short mujerista movies focusing on the issue of diversity at Cal. This film project premiered at the UC Berkeley Shadow Day, where 300 high school youth of color were invited to visit the Berkeley campus and fifty youth attended the screening. The second film, Four Legends: A Tribute to Ailleen, Yuri, Gloria y Dolores, a 13-minute musical documentary, recently premiered at the Four Legends of Feminism Conference. It honors the life and work of Aileen Hernandez, Yuri Kochiyama, Gloria Steinem and Dolores Huerta. This premiere took place at UC Berkeley on April 26. De la Riva also organized a student film festival where both films screened on May 7, at UC Berkeley.

Marcella Serrano
, B.A., Critical Studies 2005, won her first sports Emmy along with the rest of the crew for Outstanding Live Event Turnaround for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad. This is her second nomination and first win for a sports Emmy. She was previously nominated for her work in 2007 as an editor on a segment produced for NBC Sports.com titled "Ruth Lovelace: Chasing a Dream" for Outstanding New Approaches Long Form.

Hanna Montana: The Movie, produced by Miles Millar and Al Gough (both Stark ’94), was number one at the box office in its opening weekend. It knocked Fast & Furious, produced by Neil Moritz (Stark ’85), out of the top spot. A week later, Obsessed, executive produced by Damon Lee (Stark ‘94), was number one in its opening week.

Sam Dickerman (Stark ’94), Senior Vice President of Production for Columbia Pictures, was the executive who fast-tracked the upcoming Larry Charles project about geriatric sex.

Zack Sherman (Stark), former Flame Ventures prexy, sealed a first look deal with Fox TV Studios.

Peep World is being produced by Keith Calder, Filipe Marino and Joe Neurater (all Stark ’04). Paul Davis (Stark ’04) is co-producer and unit production manager. Brendan Turrill (Stark ’04) is the art director.

John Wells (Stark '82) will produce The Forgotten, based on an independent comic, through his company John Wells Productions. The comic centers on a man who, no matter what he does or whom he meets, is forgotten five minutes later.
