Michael Naimark In Budapest
Participates in Media Arts Discussion
Interactive Media Associate Professor Michael Naimark was in Budapest to participate in a roundtable discussion about new models for media arts institutions. The roundtable was part of the first anniversary events of
Kitchen Budapest, a new media lab.
A
KTLA-TV story featured research led by Naimark. He and his colleagues have spent the last two years developing a way for Internet users to upload personal photographs and place them accurately within the mapping program Google Earth.
"The purpose is to take your pictures and put them in Google Earth in such a way that they're perfectly aligned and part of the environment itself," Naimark explained. "This will allow us to look at imagery of the Earth in ways we can't even anticipate yet," he said.
