Child and Teen Consumption Conference in Norway

Critical Studies professor Ellen Seiter delivered a keynote lecture at the biannual Child and Teen Consumption Conference in Trondheim, Norway on April 26-- "Playing Moviemaker: Educational and Consumer Market for Youth Aspiring to the Creative Industries."  In London on April 20 she spoke at Goldsmiths College as part of the Leverhume series on Media Space and Place.  
The lecture was entitled "The Suicide Bomber as Aberrant Decoding."  

Ellen was also interviewed about the reasons Hollywood directors are turning to anime properties such as Speed Racer and Akira for the Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun.
