Tom Holman Awarded

Honorary Membership in the Society of Television Engineers

Production professor Tomlinson Holman recently received Honorary Membership in the Society of Television Engineers by a unanimous vote of its members.  

Dean Daley presented the award at a meeting called "An Evening with Tomlinson Holman" in which Tom presented a talk on television loudness.  

Also, the recent publication of the 2nd edition of his  book Surround Sound Up and Running was very favorably reviewed in Stereophile magazine's April issue.  "In fact, I'm glad to now have Holman's discussions to back me up when I find myself in discussions of speaker placement, bass management, side-signal localization, and my bête noir, discrete center-channel speakers vs phantom center-channel signals vs (yikes!) dual center speakers. Now I can quote Holman chapter and verse," said long-time reviewer Kalman Rubinson.
