Entertainment Tech Center
Featured in L.A. Times
A recent
Los Angeles Times article featured the Entertainment Technology Center, its history and current mission.
The story noted that the center was established 15 years ago as a forum for tech companies and studios to collaborate, but nowadays it often involves students giving advice to Hollywood and the high-tech world about online delivery of movies and TV shows to consumers, the story stated.
One recent project is the Anytime/Anywhere Content Lab, a place for ETC staff to put a variety of cutting-edge entertainment equipment and services together to see how they work, the story stated.
While studios focus on their product, the lab concentrates on the user, said David Wertheimer who is ETC’s executive director.
The center also interviews USC students on campus every week about their media consumption habits and attitudes and tests out innovations on students.
