Student contributor to NY Times

Grad Production Studetn Alice Mathias

Graduate Production student Alice Mathias is an occasional Op-Ed contributor to the New York Times and in the April 16 edition, she wrote about the recent decision by the Production division to restrict first-semester SCA students from using fake guns in their films, and requiring all other students to attend a police firearms training session before using fake guns.  Alice, who is in favor of the ban because of the recent campus shootings, includes a comment by Physical Production Director Joe Wallenstein who oversees all film production that a fake weapon could be misperceived by passers-by when used either on campus or on location and a
 disaster could result.
