Larry Turman News
Producer of The Graduate
The current issue of
Vanity Fair features an article detailing the making of
The Graduate produced by Peter Stark Producing chair Larry Turman.
Even though he had already produced several films by 1963, Turman still considered himself an industry outsider, the story stated. That year he had read and enjoyed a then-obscure book called “The Graduate,” whose protagonist reminded him of Holden Caulfield in “The Catcher in the Rye.” “Because no one else bid on the novel, I optioned the rights for $1,000,” he recalled.
