Receives $14,000 grant

Instructor of Cinema Practice in Animation and Digital Arts Trixy Sweetvittles received a $14,000 grant from the USC Fund for Innovative Undergraduate Teaching to implement a youth animation workshop class beginning Spring 2009. 

The CTAN 496 directed studies course will bring together USC animation students and K-12 youth from neighboring communities.  The course will consist of both classroom work on the USC campus and participation in developing and teaching an animation workshop to youths at Inner-City Arts in downtown Los Angeles. 

Their goal is to establish a model to encourage an ongoing relationship between students of the USC Hench Division of Animation and Digital Arts and the youth population in downtown Los Angeles neighborhoods.
