Darfur Now Film

Attracting International Attention

In the last two weeks Darfur Now, written and directed by Writing Division Assistant Professor Ted Braun and produced by Distinguished Professor Mark Jonathan Harris, sold out screenings at a series of film festivals across Europe: the One World Film Festival in Prague, the International Human Rights Film Festival in Geneva and the Human Rights Watch London Film Festival.

In Prague, Darfur Now and international justice were the subject of a debate attended by director Braun and leaders of the International Criminal Court and the Foreign Ministry of the Czech Republic.

And in Geneva, following the screening of the film, the future of Darfur was the subject of lectures and debates involving the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, the former UN special envoy to Darfur, leading Sudanese and Swiss journalists, and the former president of Doctors Without Borders.
