437 Goes to Fox
Students Meet Bill Prady
Screenwriting adjunct Jim Staahl's 437 Sitcom Pilot class met with showrunner Bill Prady at Warner Brothers Studios to learn what makes a successful network pilot and how Bill and Chuck Lorre created and developed their new multi-camera hit series,
The Big Bang Theory. The class members were also guests of executive producer Brad Johnson at the Fox lot to learn his approach to creating and pitching single-camera network series.
The class observed the shooting of his new series
Rules Of Starting Over. Staahl's 434 Half-Hour Spec class traveled to CBS Radford Studios to watch a rehearsal and shooting of
According To Jim. Students had the opportunity to ask Warren Bell and the writers questions about the writing process and staffing of a network multi-camera series. Producer Bob Heath provided contingency production plans in the event of a writers strike.
