Michael Naimark
Speaks on Art and R&D
Interactive Media Research Associate Professor Michael Naimark was in Singapore last week as a mentor and speaker for a workshop on the role of art in R&D. The workshop, organized by xMediaLab and hosted at Nanyang Technological University, was attended by representatives of new media projects in academia, government, and industry primarily from China, India, and Singapore.
CNET News covered the talk, commenting that Michael “gave a really good analysis of research & development in terms of creativity vs. productivity.” Michael also discussed the differences between artists and “tech geeks” and what happens when they’re placed together in a lab, the story reported.
Michael’s research is funded by both Microsoft and Google, according to the
article.
