Copyright, Fair Use and Public Domain

The Moving Image Archive has two excellent books available for reference on the subjects of Copyright, Fair Use and Public Domain.  A quick introduction is presented in Bound by Law? published by the Duke Center for the Study of the Public Domain.  Getting Permission, from Nolo Press, offers a more in-depth look at the copyright subject. Check out Clearance & Copyright   (2nd edition) by Michael Donaldson.

The Moving Image Archive is located in the basement of the Norris Cinema Theater.  Hours of operation are from 9am to 4pm Monday through Friday, with the exception of Wednesday and Friday Afternoons from 12:30 to 2pm.  Drop-in viewing hours are from 9am to 10am Monday through Thursday, and from 9am to noon on Fridays.
